Legislative Update - April 11, 2022

Monday, April 11, 2022

Dear neighbors,

Rep. Frank Hornstein, Sen. Scott Dibble, and I are holding a town hall this week! We hope you can join us this Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. We’ll be meeting on Zoom, so please register here and you’ll receive a link before the event begins. Feel free to share any questions you’d like us to answer as well.

Long 4.11.2022 (1)

We look forward to answering your questions and talking about the bills we’re advancing this session. Last week, House committees finished advancing omnibus bills – packages of legislation that outline plans for a specific area of the budget. On Thursday, for example, the Climate and Energy Committee I chair passed a bill that would establish Minnesota as a clean energy leader! It invests $175 million in initiatives that will lower energy costs, create good-paying jobs, and spur economic growth while reducing our state’s greenhouse gas emissions. I’m proud of this legislation and all the hard work we did to make it as strong and equitable as possible.

I’ll keep you updated as our omnibus bills move through the legislative process. If you’d like to receive more frequent updates, please follow my Facebook page. As always, you should feel free to share any questions or comments you have. You can reach me by email at rep.jamie.long@house.mn or call (651) 296-5375.

Sincerely,

Jamie Long
State Representative
