New Public Health Guidance

Wednesday, November 18, 2020

Rep. Noor

Neighbors,

Moments ago, Governor Tim Walz issued an executive order that will take effect on Friday at midnight aimed at curbing the rapid spread of COVID-19 in Minnesota. The new restrictions will apply to bars and restaurants, gyms and youth sports, which are some of the most major sources of COVID-19 outbreaks across the state.

This announcement comes after weeks of record-setting highs in new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths due to COVID-19.

Gov. Walz is doing all he can to keep us safe as the virus rages through our state, region and country.

We know these new public guidelines will be very difficult for so many. That is why along with Gov. Walz we are asking the federal government to take immediate action to help our businesses and families make ends meet. Our bars, restaurants, and many small businesses are facing difficult challenges. I encourage all of you to support your favorite establishments and do what you can to help our neighbors.

An important part of reducing the spread of the virus is to get tested and stay home when possible. Here is a list of testing locations. Find one near you: https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/MNMDH/bulletins/2acf1fc

We can meet this unparalleled challenge if we all work together.
