Legislative Update- July 22, 2019

Monday, July 22, 2019

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you’re enjoying the milder July temperatures after last week’s heat wave! Last Sunday, I attended the dedication ceremony for the Warrant Officer Dennis A. Groth Memorial Bridge. It was wonderful to be joined by the Gold Star Family, Mayor Droste, Senator Clausen, Senator Carlson and former Representative Wills. It was an honor to continue the work on this bill and see the project make it to completion.

Rosemount Research and Outreach Center

I recently had the opportunity to tour the Rosemount Research and Outreach Center, which is one of ten University of Minnesota research centers. Staff went over various topics such as the impact of climate on irrigation, and how they are using GPS research to help farmers feed people across the globe.

Leprechaun Days

Rosemount’s annual Leprechaun Days celebration kicked off last Friday and wraps up on July 28th. This is a fun tradition my family and I look forward to every year. I’ll be marching in the Grand Day Parade on Saturday and hope to see you there! You can see the full schedule of events here.

Save the Date- July 29 Town Hall Meeting

Next Monday the 29th at 7:00 p.m., Senator Clausen, Representative Bierman, and I will be hosting a Senate District 57 Town Hall Meeting at Falcon Ridge Middle School (12900 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd, Apple Valley, MN).
We’ll be providing a session recap, discussing new laws, and taking questions and feedback from community members. I’d love to get your input and hear your thoughts.
