RELEASE: Representative Boe Improves Counties Across District and Region

Tuesday, April 12, 2022

ST. PAUL, MN— Representative Greg Boe (R-Chanhassen) has been hard at work making sure Minnesota’s communities receive funding for any necessary improvement projects.

“Minnesota legislators have a habit of providing funding for the Twin Cities and often our other communities are ignored,” Boe said. “Scott and Carver counties are vibrant communities who need funding for improvements, and I am working to make sure they get the help they need.”

Boe is co-authoring HF4747 which would provide a $2.25 million grant to Carver County. The Metropolitan Council would use this grant to build a classroom facility to host events, and recreational programs, provide a playground and add other amenities to Lake Waconia Regional Park.

He is also co-authoring HF 4776, a bill that would provide $7.5 million to Scott County to stabilize Phase 1 of the Merriam Junction riverbank project.

This money would reduce erosion and protect the adjacent Minnesota State Trail. This effort would protect historic Native American cultural resources, natural resources and improve water quality. Additionally, the funds would begin to construct the bridge and trail infrastructure of the Merriam Junction Trail extension.

“Some of Minnesota’s most precious resources are our outdoor areas,” Boe said. “We must be good stewards of the environment and protect and preserve these areas for generations to come.”
