COVID-19 Vaccine Update & Survey

Thursday, March 4, 2021
f

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you’ve had a good week! We’ve reached a critical milestone with the COVID-19 vaccine administration; 45,200 doses of the newly approved Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine arrived in Minnesota this week. As of Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control ranks Minnesota 3rd among states for the percentage of doses received that have been administered. There are many moving parts as progress continues to unfold in the distribution process, but we have much to look forward to with spring just around the corner.

If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, I encourage you to check out Minnesota’s COVID-19 Vaccine Connector. This tool lets you know when you’re eligible to be vaccinated, connects you to resources to schedule a vaccine appointment, and alerts you if there are vaccine opportunities nearby. To sign up, visit mn.gov/vaccineconnector or call 833-431-2053.

As we near the halfway point of the legislative session, this will be a great opportunity for our Plymouth neighbors to share priorities and ask questions about what’s happening at the State Capitol.

Innovation Investments for Expanded Crop Development & Clean Water

This week, I presented bipartisan legislation to the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee, on which I serve, to continue funding a University of Minnesota program that develops new crops, cropping systems, and supply chains. The Forever Green Initiative has focused on developing crops that can withstand our Minnesota winter, when fields are bare and most vulnerable to erosion and nutrient loss. This measure isn’t only important for crop development, but also to protect drinking water, public health, and create new economic opportunities for Minnesota family farmers. I’m pleased to share the bill passed out of committee and is on its way to the Environment & Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee.

Survey

I’m able to best lift up Plymouth voices at the legislature when I have maximum input from neighbors. I’m grateful for the engagement through email, on social media, and at our town hall events. There’s now another way to share your input, as I’ve launched my 2021 Legislative Survey. Please take a few minutes and share with me your vision for our state, some of your concerns and challenges, and how we as lawmakers can best rebuild and recover our state from the pandemic, together.

Keep in Touch

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,
