Update: February 22, 2022

Tuesday, February 22, 2022

Dear Neighbors,

The House of Representatives began the legislative session on January 31st, and I’ve been working hard towards a productive period to solve Minnesota’s top policy issues.

Start of Session

The House passed its first bill of the session, HF1203, which extends the workers’ compensation presumption that eligible workers who test positive for COVID-19 contracted the virus during employment. I am proud to stand with frontline workers and vote for their protection.

2022 Priorities

The past two years have been rough for Minnesotans, and, while we have seen signs of an improving state economy, there are several working families not feeling the effects. That’s why this year, I am laser-focused on the issues facing working families in Minnesota. My colleagues and I will be working to provide affordable childcare, paid family and medical leave, and fully fund education.

We also have an opportunity to make real investments in the infrastructure of our state. I have bills to address the traffic issues at Lake Elmo Ave and HWY 36,  and another to fund the restoration of our Historic Courthouse.

Keeping an eye on the future of Minnesota, I have a bill that would assist Oak Park Heights in adapting to changes that will need to happen when the King Plant closes in the future.
