Legislative Update - Work Continues at the Capitol

Friday, June 4, 2021

Dear neighbors,

First of all, I’d like to wish you a happy Pride! I hope you’ll join me in celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and continuing the fight for human rights this month and beyond.

Work Continues at the Capitol

My colleagues and I are working to find common ground with Senate Republicans and pass a budget for the next two years. While there’s more work to be done, we’re committed to ensuring students, families, workers, and small businesses have the resources they need to recover from COVID-19 and thrive once it’s behind us. I remain hopeful that we’ll finish the legislative session later this month with a strong, equitable budget that benefits all Minnesotans.

Recent Recognition

I’m honored to share that the Minnesota Council on Disability (MCD) recently recognized me as a champion for Minnesotans with disabilities. I’ve worked closely with MCD and others this year while fighting to expand access to child care for children with disabilities. I look forward to continuing our partnership.

Explore Our State Parks

Free admission will be offered at all 75 of Minnesota’s state parks and recreation areas on Saturday, June 12. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to revisit your favorite state park or explore a new one! A map of all the parks is available here. You can click on the name of each park for more information.

Congratulations Graduates

Finally, I’d like to congratulate our local high school seniors. This year’s graduates have experienced unprecedented situations and many challenges over the past year. All of you should be proud of reaching this milestone. Whether you’re heading off to college, entering the workforce, or still figuring out your next steps, I wish you all the best!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance. You can contact me at rep.ami.wazlawik@house.mn or 651-296-3018.
