RELEASE: Civility Caucus Kicks Off First Event of Session with Our State, Our Future Conference

Thursday, February 17, 2022

SAINT PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Legislature’s Civility Caucus – a bipartisan, bicameral group led by Rep. Kristin Robbins (R-Maple Grove), Rep. Heather Edelson (DFL-Edina), Sen. Steve Cwodzinski (DFL-Eden Prairie), and Sen. Mark Koran (R-North Branch) – is having its first event of the 2022 legislative session on Friday at the University of Minnesota’s Our State, Our Future Conference.

The Civility Caucus began in 2016 with the purpose of creating opportunities, supporting members to work across the aisle on policy, and getting to know one another. Members of the caucus meet monthly to find common ground and ultimately create better policies for all Minnesotans.

“I am very excited that the Civility Caucus is finally resuming our in-person meetings after meeting virtually since March 2020,” said Rep. Robbins. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue to strengthen relationships and find ways to work together for the good of the state.”

"This will be a great opportunity for our caucus to build trust and goodwill as we identify common interests and goals," said Rep. Edelson. "I believe that there is far more that brings us together than separates us, and I hope that our small caucus can serve as an example of how we can bridge political divides in these divisive times."
