Deephaven, Minn. –Rep. Kelly Morrison (DFL-Deephaven) released the following statement on the killing of George Floyd:
“George Floyd should be alive today. My heart goes out to his family, friends, the Minneapolis community, and all of our neighbors of color. Everyone deserves justice, no exceptions.
The feelings of sadness, anger, and deep frustration are justified, and many Minnesotans understandably want to protest. In the coming days and weeks, we will create space to demonstrate, protest and grieve together in a peaceful way.
Today, I urge all to exercise restraint and to de-escalate the violence and destruction of property. Please stay home after 8 pm in the communities that have instituted curfews as we work to restore order.”
