Rep. Wolgamott votes to replenish Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund, deliver bonus pay to frontline workers

Monday, April 25, 2022

St. Paul, MN - Tonight, the Minnesota House of Representatives approved legislation to provide $1 billion in bonuses to frontline workers, appropriate $2.7 billion to replenish the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund, and expand unemployment insurance eligibility to hourly school workers.

State Representative Dan Wolgamott (DFL - St. Cloud) voted in favor of the legislation.

“We need to support small businesses and the frontline workers who kept our state running during the darkest days of this pandemic,” said Rep. Wolgamott. “With a historic budget surplus, we owe it to Minnesotans to deliver on both of these high priorities now.”

The investment in frontline worker bonuses would deliver $1,500 to more than 600,000 frontline workers, including health care workers, first responders, child care providers, food service and retail workers, and more.
