RELEASE: Rep. Munson sworn-in as State Representative, announces committee assignments

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

ST. PAUL, MN—Representative Jeremy Munson, R-Lake Crystal, took the oath of office and was officially sworn in Tuesday as State Representative for District 23B. Munson won a special election earlier this month to serve the remainder of the 2017-2018 term. The oath of office was administered by House Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, following the official start of the 2018 session.

"It's an honor to take the oath of office and officially begin my work on behalf of families in District 23B," Munson said. "I'm prepared to hit the ground running and tackle many of the issues I've been talking with hardworking residents about over the past couple of months."

Representative Munson was appointed by Speaker Daudt to serve on four committees; Health and Human Services Policy, Agriculture Policy, Agriculture Finance, and the Job Growth and Energy Affordability Committee.

"My committee assignments are right in line with the priorities of our community; I'm excited to work on lowering health care costs, growing good-paying jobs and bringing jobs back to Minnesota, and fighting for our farmers and agriculture community," Munson added.

Representative Munson was born and raised in rural Minnesota and lives with his wife Kallie and two children on a farm outside Lake Crystal, Minnesota. He is a small business owner, and graduated with a business degree from the University of Minnesota. District 23B includes portions of Blue Earth, Watonwan, Le Sueur, and Waseca Counties.
