SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Tonight, Governor Tim Walz and legislative leaders reached agreement on an outline for a new two-year state budget.
In response, Rep. Julie Sandstede (DFL – Hibbing) issued the following statement:
“The agreement reached by Governor Walz, Speaker Hortman, and Senator Gazelka is a compromise that protects funding for health care for over one million Minnesotans and strengthens investments in public education throughout our state. With divided government, we knew that a final agreement would require compromise, and this result reflects that reality.
“As this session concludes, our focus shifts to the future as we work to improve opportunities for Minnesotans on the Iron Range and across Minnesota.”
