Rep. Pryor

Dear Neighbors,

The 2020 legislative session convened on Tuesday and I am excited to get back to the Capitol and continue working for the people of Minnetonka and Eden Prairie.

Following adjournment of the floor session on Tuesday, the full House of Representatives remembered Rep. Diane Loeffler, who passed away in November. You can watch the tributes to our colleague and friend here. She will be greatly missed.

I participated in a news conference today to unveil House File 1 (HF1), the Great Start for All Minnesota Children Act. This comprehensive plan aims to close the opportunity gap and invest in our youngest learners.

Minnesota Values Plan and Podcast

Earlier this month, House DFL leadership released the Minnesota Values Plan (MVP) for the 2020 legislative session. You can read more about the plan and read the news release from leadership here. Also, Season 2, Episode 1 of the MVP podcast was released this week. Listen to the interview about the 2020 legislative session with Gov. Tim Walz.

I welcomed Rebecca and Ann to the Capitol on Thursday to visit about Lifesource, an organization to facilitate organ transplant and donation. Thank you for the good work you do!

Several students testified in the Education Finance Committee on Thursday. We were impressed and thankful for the perspective they brought to the Capitol.

Committee Assignments

My committee assignments remain the same as last session. I serve as vice chair of Higher Education Finance and Policy Division. In addition, I serve on the Early Childhood Finance and Policy Division and the Education Finance Division.

House of Representatives

Committee schedules, bill tracking, floor sessions and other relevant information can be found on the House of Representatives website. This is a great resource to keep track of all legislative business during session and the interim.

I also recommend taking a tour of the fully restored Capitol building, one of the most beautiful structures in Minnesota. I invite you to make a day out of visiting the Capitol and sitting in on a committee hearing or floor session.

Town Hall

I would like to remind you about our Town Hall Meeting scheduled for Saturday, February 29. Please join Sen. Cwodzinski, Rep. Kotyza-Witthun and me to discuss issue important to you.
