RELEASE: House Approves Bonding Bill with Local Projects for Todd and Wadena Counties

Thursday, October 15, 2020

St. Paul, MN—The Minnesota House of Representatives approved a bonding bill Wednesday, October 14, 2020. The bill includes general obligation bonds totaling more than $1.367 billion and additional spending that brings the total package to nearly $1.9 billion in public infrastructure investments.

Included in the bill are a handful of local projects for Todd and Wadena Counties:

  • $4 million to design and construct a new solid waste transfer station and household hazardous waste facility in Todd County.
  • $1.3 million for the City of Wadena to predesign, design, engineer, and construct an access road from Highway 10 to the new Tri-County Hospital.
  • $84 million for state road construction which, according to MNDOT, may include environmental analysis, predesign, design and engineering for the Highway 10 project in Wadena County so that it is shovel ready.

“I am pleased that important public infrastructure projects in both Todd and Wadena Counties will receive funding thanks to passage of the bonding bill,” said Rep. John Poston, R-Lake Shore. “I have been a strong advocate for all three of these projects and look forward to their completion in the years to come.”
