RELEASE: Rep. Olson reflects on transformative 2023 legislative session

Monday, May 22, 2023

SAINT PAUL, Minn.  — Tonight, the Minnesota House of Representatives adjourned the 2023 Legislative Session after completing its work on the state’s new two-year state budget. Rep. Liz Olson (DFL – Duluth) issued the following statement:

“All session long, House DFLers have been committed to delivering for Minnesotans. It doesn’t matter where you live, what you look like, or your income level: everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed and thrive. We worked together to make historic investments in schools, cut taxes for working families and seniors, expand child care opportunities, create more affordable housing, repair and modernize our transportation infrastructure, and many more priorities reflected in what we all value. We also took bold action to protect workers, protect reproductive freedom, and protect LGBTQIA2S+ Minnesotans. The transformative benefits from this session will be felt for years to come.

“As meaningful as all the work we accomplished this session was, we know Minnesotans will experience challenges and more thoughtful work to solve problems will be required in the future. I look forward to the conversations with community members in the coming months to determine how we can continue bringing their voices to the Capitol and improve their lives.”
