RELEASE: Rep. Olson sworn in to fourth term in Minn. House, takes over Ways & Means gavel

Tuesday, January 3, 2023

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The 2023 Minnesota legislative session convened today at noon in Saint Paul. Rep. Liz Olson (DFL – Duluth) took the oath of office to begin her fourth term in the Minnesota House.

“I’m excited to get back to work at the State Capitol to address challenges and strengthen opportunities both for my constituents in Duluth and people all across the state,” Rep. Olson said. “Minnesotans care about one another and want to see their neighbors succeed. With a DFL trifecta in state government – along with a sizable budget surplus – Minnesotans are counting on lawmakers to take big, bold action so our state can work better for everyone.”

This session, Rep. Olson will chair the House Committee on Ways and Means, which has broad jurisdiction over the state budget. She will also serve on the Rules & Legislative Administration and Taxes committees, as well as an ex-officio member of all House finance committees.

Rep. Olson encourages constituents to contact her throughout the session to offer input and feedback. She can be reached by email at rep.liz.olson@house.mn.gov or by phone at 651-296-4246. Constituents are also encouraged to “like” Rep. Olson’s Facebook page at facebook.com/RepLizOlson and sign up for email updates on her official House website.
