Be Heard on Cannabis

Friday, September 13, 2019

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you enjoyed your summer and the transition to fall is treating you well.

No matter your viewpoint on the issue, it’s undeniable that attitudes toward cannabis are changing. Before policymakers move ahead on this issue, it’s important to have an honest conversation about how a potential legalization framework would look and to gather input from Minnesotans on all sides of the issue.

At the Minnesota State Fair, Rep. Ryan Winkler, the House Majority Leader, launched this statewide conversation titled “Be Heard on Cannabis.” This is a series of discussions in communities across Minnesota, and I’m grateful he’s organizing one in Duluth.

Please join us on Saturday, September 21 at 11 a.m. at Teatro in the Zeitgeist Arts building (222 East Superior Street) for this important dialogue amongst neighbors. Joining me and Rep. Winkler will be Rep. Jen Schultz, Assistant Senate Minority Leader Jeff Hayden of Minneapolis, and Commissioner Paul Schnell of the Minnesota Department of Corrections. Everyone in the community is welcome, and I hope you can join us. Feel free to RSVP here on Facebook.
