St. Paul, MN—State Representative Sandy Layman, R-Cohasset, issued the following statement regarding today's news that Minnesota has a $1.3 billion budget surplus for FY20-21.
"The state’s substantial budget surplus is due in large part to a robust state and federal economy that has brought increased revenue to the state of Minnesota. Thanks to this budget surplus, any discussion of raising taxes this session should end today. Instead, with the state’s budget reserves fully funded, we need to focus our efforts on providing tax relief for hardworking Minnesotans and their families.”
