Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Task Force to Hold Meeting in Hinckley

St. Paul, MN – The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Task Force, established in April of 2019 by Rep. Mary Kunesh-Podein's bill, will hold its second meeting on Thursday, December 12 in Hinckley.

Two additional meetings will take place on March 5, 2020 and August 13, 2020, with sub-committee meetings and data collection in the intervening months.

What: Second meeting of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Task Force

Who: Task Force members, including Representative and Steering Committee Co-Chair Mary Kunesh-Podein, Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Chief Executive Melanie Benjamin, and Commissioner John Harrington

When: Thursday, December 12 from 9 am – 4 pm, additional agenda details available here

Where: Grand Casino Hinckley, Ballroom III, 777 Lady Luck Drive, Hinckley, MN

The task force will complete a report by December 2020 that evaluates the systemic causes behind violence against Indigenous women and girls. More information is available on the Task Force website here.
