Greetings!
It’s the time of year that we pause to reflect on all we are thankful for - and to eat lots of pumpkin pie! For my family, Thanksgiving Day will begin with a drive and lunch in Rochester with my husband Tim’s family. Then back to St. Paul for dessert with my family and end the day feasting with a birthday gathering for my son and his grandpa. I am so thankful for a dog that loves and needs to be walked!
I want to let you know how thankful I am for the opportunity to represent you and the great cities of Columbia Heights, Hilltop, New Brighton and St. Anthony Village in the Minnesota State Legislature. This past year has allowed me to engage in incredibly meaningful conversations with neighbors and lawmakers who have a shared purpose of overcoming the challenges we face. I cannot say it enough: I am here to serve you. I am here to listen to you, to help identify solutions to our common concerns, and to implement those changes in the best interest of all our communities. Thank you for putting your confidence in me to represent you.
The 2018 Legislative session begins February 20th. Moving forward together, I will continue to approach my role as your State Representative through building genuine relationships focused on strengthening our communities. Together, let’s increase our engagement and participation in our democracy!

Health Insurance Individual Market deadline is December 20th to ensure coverage on January 1st. Open enrollment closes on January 14th.
Heating Assistance and Cold Weather Rules:
For many in our community, the colder weather can pose significant challenges. Minnesota recognizes that we may need help from time to time. On October 15, the Minnesota Cold Weather Rule also went into effect which protects residential utility customers from having their heat shut off during the winter months. Assistance may be available for folks’ energy bills, help with possible utility disconnections or fuel deliveries, and advocacy between power companies and human service providers.
