SAINT PAUL, MN – Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed the Alec Smith Insulin Affordability Act.  The legislation establishes an emergency insulin program for the Minnesotans who need it most, with insulin manufacturers financially participating in the solution. The bill passed on a vote of 111-22.

Rep. Erin Koegel released the following statement:

“Minnesotans should not have to die because they can’t afford the medicine they need,” said Rep. Erin Koegel. “Today, the House took strong steps to ensure insulin is affordable for those who need it and will save families from the heartache of losing a loved one. Drug manufacturers will now take part in solving the problem they created.”
