Dear Neighbors,

St. Paul Park Council

Earlier this week, I attended the final swearing-in ceremony to complete the St. Paul Park City Council. This is our most local level of government, which means it’s the closest to our friends and neighbors. Having a great council, like this one, is invaluable for our residents. Since my days as mayor, and now as a legislator, I’ve always worked closely with local city councils, and look forward to keeping that relationship going forward.

I was fortunate to give a legislative update at the meeting and plan to make it to other council hearings before session starts in February. I’ll keep you posted as these come up.

Recent Grant

Earlier this month, the South St. Paul Economic Development Authority (EDA) was awarded a $1.26 million grant from the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The money will be used to clean up the contaminated site at 843 Hardman Ave. The good news is the project will create over 80 new jobs and increase the tax base by nearly $500,000. I look forward to seeing this project progress.

Holiday Train Update

When money is raised for the Holiday Train charity, we always see such amazing support from our community. This year was no different as our area pitched in to raise over $100,000 for the Friends in Need Food Shelf. What a great cause; I’m blown away by the support!

Please Contact Me

As always, please call or email my office if you ever need anything. I’m usually back in the district and would love to schedule a meeting. Just give me a call and we’ll set something up.
