All eligible adults 18 and older can now get a COVID-19 booster shot. I encourage anyone who has received their first or second Pfizer or Moderna or their Johnson & Johnson dose to contact your health plan or nearest pharmacy to get your booster. And don’t forget to get your annual flu shot! The holidays are here, and we want to celebrate safely and the best way to be together is to get vaccinated.
Also, a reminder that eligible Minnesotans 5 and older can get their first and second COVID-19 vaccines. The state of Minnesota has launched a new webpage to help parents and guardians find a vaccine for children aged 5-11 and answer questions about the vaccine. You can also call the Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 Public Hotline at 1-833-431-2053 Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sat., 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
With the holidays upon us, I want to extend a heartfelt wish to each of you for a joyful Thanksgiving. The last few months have been very difficult, but we have shown our generosity, kind spirit and resolve to weather the worst of the pandemic. I recently lost my father, and I am so appreciative to all who reached out either with a phone call, email or on social media to extend their sympathies. My dad was a giant in my eyes, and he will be dearly missed.
