This week, the Legislature returned from our mid-session holiday break. Various budget bills are being reviewed and moved through the Ways and Means Committee, and will start being debated on the House floor next week. This week we also passed the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund spending bill, which funds various environmental research and habitat projects.
I also want to thank everyone who attended the joint Gun Violence Prevention Update with Rep. Kelly Moller. It was important to lift up the voices of some of those most closely impacted by gun violence and I was glad so many of you were able to participate. Our conversations about public safety must include addressing gun violence. The bills we highlighted are reasonable, actionable solutions that would make a difference in preventing gun violence from happening in the first place.
