REP. BAHR TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR EXCELLENCE BY THE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE UNION FOUNDATION AT AWARD CEREMONY TONIGHT 9/11/2019

[ST. PAUL, MN, September 11, 2011] The American Conservative Union Foundation will be honoring recipients of the highest scores on its 2019 scorecard at an award ceremony tonight at 8 pm with a reception to follow. The event will be held at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Park.

Rep. Cal Bahr (Republican-East Bethel) is being honored with scoring 90% on their scorecard, which qualifies him for their top award for “Conservative Excellence.” He holds an 88% lifetime average from ACUF.

Rep. Bahr said, “I am proud to be recognized by a national organization like ACUF for my voting record. I am especially pleased that they selected one of the amendments I offered, an amendment to the Transportation Bill that would have stripped a provision and funding for an expansion of the North Star Commuter Rail Line.”

He continued, “This line has been a money pit from day one. If we lengthen the route, it will lose even more money per mile. Calling this “just a study” is also false. We all know that first comes the study, then the pre-engineering, then the application for federal money, then the request for state taxpayer money. We need to say ‘No,’ loud and clear, right now.”

The Conservative Political Action Conference will be hosting an event earlier in the day, from 4-8 before the award ceremony to honor the heroism of 9/11 first responders and citizens around the country.

The NHRC is led by Rep. Steve Drazkowski (Republican-Mazeppa).  It includes Rep. Cal Bahr (Republican-East Bethel), Rep. Tim Miller (Republican-Prinsburg), and Rep. Jeremy Munson (Republican-Lake Crystal).
