Dear Northlanders,
This coming Monday is Memorial Day. Those who have served our nation in the Armed Forces have done so with courage and dedication, but many of them made the ultimate sacrifice and didn’t come home. This weekend, as we take part in the activities we all enjoy with family and friends over a long weekend, we do so with tremendous gratitude, remembering those who gave their lives in service to this country. While recognizing their contributions, we can never repay them for their sacrifices.
This year, the official Minnesota Memorial Day program will once again be virtual. Produced by TPT and the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, “Reflections: Memorial Day 2021” will air on the Minnesota Channel on public T.V. at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 31 and again on Sunday, June 6 at 8 a.m. Video will also be available on MDVA’s website.
As we reflect upon the sacrifices of men and women who have donned the uniform of the United States of America, I hope you have an enjoyable, relaxing, and safe weekend.
