SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, Governor Tim Walz, House Speaker Melissa Hortman, and Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka announced a bipartisan agreement on an outline for a new two-year state budget.
State Rep. Rob Ecklund (DFL – International Falls) issued the following statement:
“The last year has been unquestionably tough for everyone, and this budget framework will go a long way toward helping our state recover from the pandemic. The federal funding we’ve received under the American Rescue Plan is a big reason we’re able to move forward with such meaningful investments in our schools, health care, and other critical areas like broadband. COVID-19 has made our job more complex, but Minnesotans expect us to work together. We will keep collaborating to reach a complete agreement, but coupled with great progress in overcoming the pandemic, I’m confident this budget outline will strengthen the future for our state.”
