SAINT PAUL, Minn. – State Rep. Rob Ecklund (DFL – International Falls) issued the following statement regarding the status of PolyMet Mining’s permitting:
“The process regarding the PolyMet permits should be allowed to proceed, just as it has been for the last 20 years. After meticulous, perhaps unprecedented review and scrutiny, the DNR, MPCA, and Army Corps of Engineers have all signed off on this project going forward.
“The EPA provided feedback on the permits to the MPCA, which incorporated their comments and recommendations into their final product. There is no need for the Governor to needlessly halt this overdue project from proceeding.”
