Legislative Update - March 17th, 2017

Friday, March 17, 2017

Greetings Northlanders!

We are just about to meet our second deadline. To help folks better understand the process, our great nonpartisan House Public Information department put together a video explaining the process. Click here to watch the video. Below are some photos from this week.

In between long committee meetings I was happy to meet with a few people from around the district. Michelle Pierson, Bob Nesheim, and Bill Blank stopped by for Bike Day on the Hill to talk about the Gitchi-Gami Trail and how valuable the trail system is to both the people who live here and the tourism industry.

It was also great to meet with ARRM. They work with more than 200 providers, businesses and advocates dedicated to leading the advancement of community-based services that support people living with disabilities in their pursuit of meaningful lives. It is really important work and it was great to hear their stories.

I also had an unexpected visitor during one of the committees from the Minnesota Zoo. The Minnesota Zoo belongs to each Minnesotan and it’s a wonderful place to see animals from around the world. If you find yourself in the Twin Cities area, I encourage you to visit.

Please always feel free to contact me on the issues you care about. I appreciate your input.

Sincerely,

Rob Ecklund
State Representative
