Advisory: House Education Policy Committee to Hear School Shooting Prevention Strategies

Friday, February 14, 2020

St. Paul, Minn. — House Education Policy Committee members next week will hear firsthand from The Violence Project about research-driven strategies to prevent mass shootings in schools. A 2018 Pew Research Center poll found that 57% of teens were somewhat or very worried that a school shooting could happen in their school.

Enacting common-sense gun violence prevention measures like criminal background checks and red-flag laws are key components to the House DFL Majority’s Minnesota Values Plan.
