NASH, FRANSON APPLAUD MAY BEING RECOGNIZED AS MOTORCYCLE SAFETY AWARENESS MONTH

ST. PAUL — State Representative Jim Nash, R-Waconia, and State Representative Mary Franson, R-Alexandra, applaud the naming of May as Motorcycle Awareness Month by the governor. Rep. Nash and Rep. Franson each sent a letter to Governor Walz urging him to take this action in support of American Bikers for Awareness, Training and Education (A.B.A.T.E.) and the motorcycle riders in their communities.

"On behalf of all Minnesotans, I want to thank the governor for joining our call to help raise awareness for motorcycle safety," said Rep. Nash. "Safety on our roads is not a partisan issue and, while the nice Minnesota summer weather is a little safer than our winter blizzards, motorists need to pay closer attention and share the road with motorcycles."

"Recognizing May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month is an important step to help remind Minnesotans to share the roads this summer with motorcycles," said Rep. Franson. "The safety of all Minnesotans on our streets and highways is vital for everyone as we work together to reduce injuries and fatalities on our roads."
