REP. MILLER ENCOURAGES RESIDENTS TO ATTEND BIODIESEL MEETINGS

Monday, February 26, 2018

ST. PAUL – State Representative Tim Miller (R-Prinsburg) is encouraging diesel retailers, distributors, fleets, farmers and other interested parties to learn more about Minnesota’s biodiesel requirement at an upcoming area meeting.

The “Be Ready for B20” workshop, sponsored by the Minnesota Soybean and Research Council, will be held in Willmar on March 7 at the American Legion, 220 19th Ave SW, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The goal of the workshops is to help the industry prepare for the change, and understand the benefits of the fuel and how it will impact fuel providers and end users.

“Biodiesel stakeholders need to be ready to move forward now that Minnesota’s B20 requirement is set to go into effect on May 1,” Miller said. “This Willmar meeting will answer many of the questions people have regarding this change.”

According to organizers, topics at the workshop include a history and overview of Minnesota’s law; compliance with the law; diesel and biodiesel basics; best practices for storage handling and use; blending in the spring and fall; and identifying, treating and preventing common diesel issues. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, the Minnesota Department of Commerce Weights & Measures Division and MEG Corp Fuel Consulting are scheduled to speak.

Miller said if you are interested in attending, please RSVP at 952-473-0044 or email jennifer@megcorpmn.com
