Lueck starts fourth House term

Tuesday, January 5, 2021

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Dale Lueck, R-Aitkin, was sworn into his fourth term of office as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday as the 92nd Minnesota Legislature convened at the Capitol in St. Paul.

Lueck was re-elected to the House in November. He represents House District 10B, which encompasses Aitkin County and a major portion of Crow Wing County. His committee assignments include the Agriculture Finance and Policy, and Environment and Natural Resources Finance & Policy committees.

“I believe we are all glad to put 2020 into the rear-view mirror,” Lueck said. “I look forward to working on behalf of the people in District 10B as the 2021 legislative session begins. Front and center is moving the governor toward working cooperatively with the Legislature to bring an end to this peacetime emergency we’ve been under for the better part of a year.

“In addition to working through the current pandemic, our major task during the first year of the 92nd Legislature includes adopting the next two-year state budget. That budget must be in place no later than July 1, 2021 in order to continue state operations. The most recent budget forecast indicates about a $1.3 billion shortfall.

“As we move forward the governor will be providing his agencies’ budget requests to the Legislature. That will be followed by receipt of the February 2021 forecast, which will provide the most current data available as we finalize the state’s next biennium budget package.”

Lueck encourages citizens of District 10B to contact his legislative office this session by calling (651) 296-2365 or by emailing rep.dale.lueck@house.mn.

As a COVID-19 precaution, Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony was conducted with most House members participating remotely from their legislative offices instead of in the chamber as is tradition.
