Statement from Rep. Lueck re: stay-at-home order extension

Thursday, April 30, 2020

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Dale Lueck, R-Aitkin, issued the following statement Thursday after Gov. Tim Walz indicated his stay-at-home order for Minnesota will be extended to May 18, while allowing more retail businesses to open with restrictions.

“I continue hearing from a variety of local businesses asking for relief from the emergency measures and continue to encourage the governor to open up Minnesota businesses,” Lueck said. “That’s the solution. We all understand we must take precautions. I am confident businesses will do what is necessary to protect their customers. Main Street has been hammered unfairly by closure or being relegated to curb-side sales only, while  larger retail competitors remain unrestricted and fully open. I respect the tough spot the governor is in but, please, let’s provide more relief for our local retailers.”
