ST. PAUL – State Rep. Dale Lueck, R-Aitkin, issued the following statement regarding Thursday’s report from Minnesota Management & Budget indicating that Minnesota has a $1.3 billion budget surplus projected for 2020-21:
“This is really good news, especially when you consider the $1.3 billion is what remains even after we place money into the rainy day fund as required by law,” Lueck said. “With that reserve account now fully funded at nearly $2.5 billion, there is no better time to really emphasize tax relief for Minnesotans. From senior citizens to veterans, health care consumers and beyond, there’s no shortage of opportunity to help out taxpayers in our state during the 2020 legislative session.”
