ST. PAUL – House Republicans announced their budget targets Monday, headlined by $1.35 billion in tax relief for Minnesota families, $450 million in new funding for road and bridge infrastructure, and an overall budget target that ensures a sustainable level of state spending for the next biennium. Below is a statement from Rep. Dale Lueck, R-Aitkin, in response.
“We’ve got an emphasis on funding roads and bridges, tax reform and continuing to properly fund our schools,” Lueck said. “This is the beginning of a process that is going to put our state in good shape for the next two years and even beyond than that. There are a lot of different approaches here, but, the big thing is roads and bridges, tax reform and continuing to spend on the things we need to, particularly education.”
