AITKIN, Minn. – Rep. Dale Lueck, R-Aitkin, will host a public listening session on Minnesota’s health insurance exchange, known as MNsure, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the Aitkin Public Library Conference Center.
In addition, the listening session will address recent increases in health insurance rates. Rep. Greg Davids, R-Preston, who chairs the House MNsure Legislative Oversight Committee, will attend to receive input from local citizens regarding how MNsure is working.
“This listening session is designed to gather input from the public on Minnesota’s response to the Federal Affordable Care Act (ACA), which resulted in the creation of MNsure," Lueck said. "Health care insurance is a complicated subject and we need to better understand how the MNsure program is working.”
Since January 2014, purchasing health insurance coverage is mandatory for most adults and their children under federal law as a result of the Affordable Care Act.
