Special Session Next

Tuesday, May 21, 2019

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The 2019 Regular Legislative Session adjourned Midnight last night with MUCH work yet not completed. Because Democrats blocked legislation from being completed over their demands for $12B in tax increases at a time of ~$3.5B projected surplus and cash on hand, as well as numerous other terrible policy provisions, only one spending bill passed in the last five months. This has not happened in decades making the Democrat controlled House the LEAST efficient since 1985 and LEAST transparent in MN legislative history!

SPECIAL SESSION

Because most of the spending bills funding state government were not passed during the regular Session, state government will shut down beginning July 1 unless Democrats end their extremist, metro-centric positions demanding items such as driver's licenses for illegal immigrants, allowing felons to vote, cutting nursing homes by $68M, gun control and confiscation orders, allowing Planned Parenthood to teach sex education to elementary students, and tons more very bad stuff.

Hopefully metro-centric Democrats will do what’s right for Minnesota and stop their extremist demands and the Governor will call a Special Session within the next several days or weeks so we can pass the bills to fund state government for the betterment of all hardworking Minnesota individuals, families, and businesses across our great state.

It's a true privilege continuing to serve the great people I have the honor of representing in the MN House! Whether Regular Session or Special Session, I will continue fighting for the values and priorities of our great community including:

• Pro-Life
• Pro-Second Amendment
• Tax Cuts
• Roads & Bridges Transportation
• Equity in Education Funding
• Free-Market Health Care Solutions
• Cost Effective Energy
• And more
