Rep. Eric Lucero (30B) - Nov. 23 Legislative Update

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Dear Neighbor,

With the election now having passed, rules of the House of Representatives permit email updates to once again continue.

I’m humbled and honored by the overwhelming support and trust I received to continue serving and working hard representing the values and priorities of our great community. I’m looking forward to continuing to work on roads and bridges transportation funding without raising taxes, continuing the equity in education funding successes we had last session, lowering healthcare costs by repealing and replacing Obamacare and MNsure with free-market healthcare solutions, and further enhancing pro-life, pro-gun rights, and student-data privacy protections.

CONTROL OF THE LEGISLATURE

Republicans expanded our majority in the Minnesota House from 73 to 76 and for only the second time since 1971 captured the majority in the Minnesota Senate, giving Republicans full control of the Minnesota Legislature. The resounding Republican victories across Minnesota and the country represent a rejection of big government policies of Pres. Obama and Gov. Dayton to be replaced by a mandate to return to constitutional principles of limited government and empowering families and businesses with individual liberty and choice.

Republicans are ready to hit the ground running when the next legislative session begins Jan. 3, ending the division, and getting to work for the betterment of all Minnesotans by returning hope to people and changing the direction the country and state are headed.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving from the Lucero family to yours! Each of us is richly blessed to live in such a great country and state and we are very thankful to the brave current and former men and women serving in the armed services and law enforcement protecting us and our freedoms. I hope you are able to spend some extra time with friends and family as we contemplate our many blessings.

As always, please send me any thoughts or feedback you may have and please let me know if there is anything I may be able to do to assist on a matter of state government.

God bless,

Rep. Eric Lucero
