Dear Neighbors,
The 2019 legislative session officially began on Tuesday as I joined 133 of my colleagues in the House of Representatives for a swearing-in ceremony where we took the oath of office.
This is the third time that I’ve taken the oath of office and it continues to be a humbling and overwhelming experience. It truly is an honor to represent you, your family, and our community in St. Paul. Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in me.
Legislative work will begin in earnest next week as committees get up and running. My committee assignments for this year include the Higher Education Finance and Policy Division, Education Finance Division, and the Greater Minnesota Jobs and Economic Development Finance Division.
These assignments give me the opportunity to work closely on the issues that matter most to our area like bringing down the costs of college tuition, strengthening our schools, and ensuring that folks living in Greater Minnesota have access to good-paying jobs.
