News from Dave

Dear Neighbors,

Greetings! It’s great to be back for my 8th legislative session representing the amazing residents of Kandiyohi County. We have hit the ground running and are already busy with overviews of state finances and what the Governor is planning to do with state agencies. It’s also been great to reconnect with members of both parties as we get ready for a busy and short legislative session.

Sadly, the State Office Building, where my office is located, has been closed to the public by House Speaker, Melissa Hortman. I am very troubled by this, and want to assure anyone wanting to travel to St. Paul that we do have arrangements available for those that would like to meet. My assistant Emilie will help with these arrangements to make sure that we can meet, in person, as usual. If you prefer a virtual meeting, we can always schedule a Zoom call as well. As your representative, it is critical that I hear from you on issues that are important to you and our area!

I had the privilege this week to talk with the Willmar High School Student Council with Mayor Marv Calvin. At the meeting, we shared our journeys in leadership and public service. It’s exciting to see young people getting involved in representing their student body!

I will keep these emails brief and will occasionally do a short video to give you an update on a regular basis this year. Stay tuned as I will do my best to keep you updated as the session unfolds!
