WILLMAR, MN—Rep. Dave Baker, R-Willmar, issued the following statement congratulating area 2017 Farm Families of the Year. The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2017 Farm Family Recognition Program takes place today at Farmfest.
The 2017 award winners from Kandiyohi County are the Orsten families from R and R Family Farms.
"Congratulations to Ross and Rhonda and their sons, and Robert and Rochelle and their five children, on this amazing award,” said Rep. Baker. “We’re so proud of our devoted agriculture workers and all they do to put food on our table. Again, congrats to the Orsten families!”
Baker is preparing a House resolution for the family to recognize their award.
