News from Dave

Friday, April 28, 2017

Dear Neighbors,

It’s been a great week in St. Paul. You’ll start to see some big strides in the coming days, and I can’t wait to keep you updated. Before that, I want to make sure you’re aware of an important event taking place tomorrow.

Drug Take-Back Day

Saturday, April 29 is The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. From 10am-2pm, collection sites like police stations, will provide a safe, responsible way to dispose of any unused medication. One step in fighting the current opioid epidemic is getting rid of any extra pills a patient doesn't need anymore. This helps keep opioids off the streets, or out of the hands of kids looking through their medicine cabinet. It’s a small way we can all take a step toward reducing opioid abuse.

Fun Visit

This week, I was fortunate to spend much of the day with Kandiyohi CEO (KCEO) participants. These exceptional students are part of this program because they’re interested in creating businesses, jobs, and revolutionary ideas. It was an honor to talk to these students and listen to what they want to accomplish in the future. We spent some time with Governor Dayton, and talked about the importance of putting aside differences to reach a common goal.

Meeting with Students

Today I visited 6th graders in Willmar and 3rd graders at Prairie Woods Elementary School in New London. It is testing season now and a challenging time for all teachers and students! Good luck, everyone! Here’s a photo of me with the students in Willmar.

Hearing From You

I wanted to say a sincere thank you to all who came to last weekend’s townhall events with Senator Andrew Lang and the Spicer stop with US Rep. Collin Peterson. We had a cordial, bipartisan discussion, and enjoyed listening to your questions and ideas.

If you weren’t able to make it to one of the events, please feel free to call, email, or visit me in St. Paul; I’d love to hear from you.

Have a great weekend,

Dave
