To my Friends and Neighbors….

I have enjoyed some amazing visits and tours recently with 6th graders at ACGC, conversations with staff and administrators at Lake Region Home Health Care conversations, and greeting new friends at Compassionate Cottages. I've also stopped by MNDOT open houses, trained in helping distribute Nalaxone which is a medication that reverses overdoses and can help first responders save dozens of lives per year. I also had a great meeting with area Police Chiefs Association members in Willmar. I can never learn enough about the many issues and priorities we face in the great state of Minnesota. We have so many individuals doing GREAT work for folks in our area.

My visit to Compassionate Cottages was one of the highlights of my week. I got to meet with Deloris, a resident of the cottages as well as the staff who shared their perspective on the challenges and needs for senior care in Willmar and what the legislature can do to help.

With the Holidays almost upon us, I just wanted to give a quick shout out to the many small local businesses in our area that need our support during the holiday blitz. From the awesome shops in New London, to the small Cafes around Willmar and Spicer, Award winning Lu Lu Bean’s coffee shoppe (Congrats) and the hardware stores, flower shops, and the other locally owned businesses, we're blessed with many small businesses who you can support as you're out and about the rest of the year.

This Thanksgiving I hope you'll also support our local turkey producers too as they continue to recover from the avian flu outbreak earlier this year. All the birds being sold for Thanksgiving are healthy and safe to eat!

I am happy to support ‘Small Business Saturday,’ which will be next Saturday the 27th and ask all of you to think about this for the remainder of the Holiday season! They provide the backbone of many jobs and services our small towns need to keep our communities viable.

We all have much to be thankful for! Enjoy a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.

Warmest regards

Dave
