Legislative Update from Rep. Jeff Backer

Friday, February 23, 2024

Dear Neighbors,

My heart breaks for the families of the first responders and the entire community of Burnsville. Sunday's tragedy is a sad reminder of the dangers that first responders and law enforcement face every day as they go about their jobs protecting and serving Minnesotans. All of us need to do our part to make sure that we continue to build a culture that values and respects those that have sworn an oath to protect our communities.

Please continue to keep the families, Burnsville, and the entire community of officers and first responders in your prayers.

I recorded a brief video discussing this senseless tragedy as well as giving an update on what happened in St. Paul this week. You can watch by clicking here or the photo to the left.

Broken Promises

Democrats have shown time and again that they are more than willing to break the promises they have made to Minnesotans.

This week, we saw them break yet another promise by refusing to completely fix last year's tax bill, resulting in higher taxes for many Minnesotans.
