Dear Neighbors,
Earlier this week, the University of Minnesota released its annual list of the “Farm Families of the Year”. According to the U of M, the program has existed for over two decades and honors farm families from throughout Minnesota for their contributions to the agriculture industry and their local communities. The honored farm families have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities.
Each of the state’s counties has a family represented. Here are the 2016 recipients from our area:
- The Mark and Pam Chase family from Big Stone County
- The Kalpin family from Douglas County
- The Boone Carlson family from Grant County
- Cullbarr Farms of Pope County
- Lloyd and Jan Anderson family from Stevens County
- Duffield Family Farms of Traverse County
- Pat and Diana Freese of Wilkin County
Congratulations to all recipients on this well-deserved honor!
