Legislative Update (5-6-16)

Friday, May 6, 2016

Dear Neighbors,

Last week, the House debated and passed three supplemental omnibus bills. Included in these three bills were a number of provisions that will benefit Greater Minnesota

Included in the three supplemental omnibus bills were provisions that:

  • Re-open the Appleton Prison
  • Improve reimbursement rates for rural ambulance services
  • Make historic investments in broadband internet expansion
  • Fund the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System
  • Increase the accessibility of child care
  • Limit MNsure’s ability to place liens on the properties of Medicaid recipients and bring more transparency to MNsure
  • Provide more equitable school funding between metro and non-metro school districts

With the passage of these three bills, the House has again affirmed its support of finding solutions that address the challenges facing communities in Greater Minnesota.
