ST. PAUL – Following a press conference held by House and Senate Republicans to highlight legislation to halt construction of a new Senate office building, Rep. Nick Zerwas (R-Elk River) issued the following statement:
“In Elk River, we know that when schools are being renovated and you need additional space, you rent other space at low cost to the taxpayers. If we need to find temporary office space in St. Paul, let’s put some trailers on the front lawn of the Capitol for a few months. We don’t need to spend $90 million of taxpayer money just to make politicians feel comfortable.”
