SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Tonight, Governor Tim Walz and legislative leaders reached agreement on an outline for a new two-year state budget.
Rep. Ben Lien (DFL – Moorhead) issued the following statement:
"I'm very pleased the legislative leaders arrived at an agreement with Gov. Walz on the state budget. I know they worked hard over the last week, and the Legislature is now in a position to put the details together and close out this year's legislative session.
"The House started budget talks with a focus on education, and with the investments in our agreement that is what we’re going to do. Keeping education strong will put all Minnesota students first, and ensure our economy has the people power to stay strong."
