RELEASE: Rep. Lien responds to Gov. Dayton’s final State of the State

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Wednesday night in the House Chamber, Gov. Mark Dayton delivered his eighth and final State of the State address.

Rep. Ben Lien (DFL – Moorhead) released the following statement:

“We all should be thankful for the genuine leadership Gov. Dayton has shown over these past eight years. Massive budget deficits were wiped away in favor of surpluses, historic investments in education at all levels were made, and unemployment is now as low as it’s been in many years. While looking ahead to the work before us, Gov. Dayton outlined a remarkable legacy to be proud of.

“But we have a lot to get done this session. We need to pass a bonding bill, figure out how we handle the federal tax bill, fix MNLARS and other important things to improve the lives of Minnesotans. I’m optimistic that we can work together to solve these problems, and Gov. Dayton laid out a terrific case for why we must do so.”
